Read this if your indicators aren't working!

If your indicators are not working, you need to go into your settings for your individual IM programs and set the privacy preferences to allow all users to contact you.
For example, you need to go into Windows Live Messenger and uncheck the box that says "only users on my allow list can see my online status and send me messages". Then do the same for the other IM programs.
