If you want to host an Online Status Indicator server where other people can get their indicators, it is easy to set up with a minimum of requirements. It is written in Java and runs on all platforms. All you need is an always-connected computer. You don't even need a web server, Online Status Indicator acts as a web server too!

Follow these steps to set up your own server:
- Download status.jar and save it into a directory of your choice.
- Double-click status.jar to start your Online Status Indicator host.
- Post the address of your OSI host here (in order to get listed on the Usage page)
