MSN OFFLINE STATUS

hi i was wondering is there a way to detect a friend who is showing the STATUS OFFLINE and we can check to see if he is really online of just appearing OFFLINE.

is there any software or any way of determining that this is possible to check n see if the person is really ONLINE and hiding from you or just really oFFline

i've checked blockedchecker and NO i know abt BLOCKED MSN what i want is to check for my friends Status online / offline.
